Ginger oil, China (Zingiber officinale) is warm, sweet and powerful with citrus-like notes comparable to orange and lemon. Hints of lemongrass and coriander are also reported. The natural chemistry of lemongrass includes sesquiterpenes, farnesene, methyl heptenone, cineol, borneol, geraniol, linalool, zingerone and gingerol. Typically steam distillation yields about one percent.
