Aromatic Description: This is a commercial grade lavender that is very popular among soap makers. It has harsh camphoreous tones and the scent comes through stronger in the final soap product than the other lavenders. The 40/42 from France is a better product but if you are price sensitive, this is the one you are looking for.
Blends well with: Bay, Bergamot, Chamomile, Citronella, Clary Sage, Geranium, Jasmine, Lemon, Mandarin, Orange, Palmarosa, Patchouli, Pine, Thyme, Rosemary, Rosewood and Ylang-ylang.
Safety precautions: Non-toxic, non-irritant and generally non-sensitizing. Non-hazardous in pregnancy.
Common Uses: In terms of lavender, this one is mostly for soap. For therapeutic use, I would go with a different one, French Fine High Altitude being the most therapeutic.
Other information: “40/42” refers to a combination of natural lavender oils (and/or synthetic chemicals – linalyl acetate, linalool) to produce one with linalyl acetate and linalool that approaches a 40/42% standard. There is no difference in chemical composition of the natural because cloning has produced a less hybrid vigor.
Class: Monoterpenol
