Aromatic Description:  The scent is fresh and sweet, floral, natural and winsome. Unlike some floral extracts, French Lavender is not the least bit nauseating or overpowering, though decidedly floral.  

Blends well with:  Blends well with most oils, especially Orange, Lemon, Chamomile, Clary Sage, Geranium. Try a 4 to 1 blend with our Reserve Select Patchouli for an excellent blend with staying power or with Roman Chamomile and Marjoram (3L: 2C: 1M) for a wonderful night time relaxation blend.

Common Uses:  Acne, allergies, anxiety, asthma, athlete's foot, bruises, burns, chicken pox, colic, cuts, cystitis, depression, dermatitis, dysmenorrhea, earache, flatulence, headache, hypertension, insect bites, insect repellent, itching, labour pains, migraine, oily skin, rheumatism, scabies, scars, sores, sprains, strains, stress, stretch marks, vertigo, whooping cough. 

Other information:  Chemically the European lavenders are quite similar. Linalool, linalyl acetate, furfural, valeric aldehyde, amyl alcohol, pinene, cineol, and various other components occur naturally in French Lavender. English Lavender has higher linalool content. However, French Lavender has a higher ester content than lavenders cultivated at lower altitudes. For Lavender high altitudes are preferable. The distillations carried out at higher altitudes tend to produce improved oils, due to lower distillation temperatures.  If you are looking for a lavender with high therapeutic qualities, this is it!  I do not recommend this one for soap as it should be reserved for leave on products and/or inhalation methods.
