Aromatic Description: Aromatically Nutmeg is considered warm and spicy. The sweetness is sometimes compared to sweet marjoram.
Blends well with: Oakmoss, lavandin, bay leaf, peru balsam, orange, geranium, clary sage, rosemary, lime, petitgrain, mandarin, coriander, and other spice oils.
Safety precautions: Generally non-toxic, non-irritant and non-sensitizing. Use in moderation and with care in pregnancy.
Common Uses: Arthritis, constipation, fatigue, muscle aches, nausea, neuralgia, poor circulation, rheumatism, slow digestion.
Other information: The Myristica fragrans is a large tree sometimes growing 80 feet tall. It is a native to the Spice Islands. Little pale flowers precede the yellow fruit which contains the kernel that has the actual value for commerce. Dried nutmeg fruits are steam distilled to produce this oil.
