Our hemp seed oil is produced in Manitoba in a light and oxygen free environment to protect the delicate oils, insuring the production of a "high quality oil" with increased shelf life. Our hemp seed oil is cold filtered to remove any suspended solids and then packaged as crude under nitrogen gas (the manufacturer does this, Creations from Eden does not). It contains over 90% unsaturated fats including both the Omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids and GLA. 

Aroma:  Slight nutty scent, characteristic of hemp oil.

Colour:  Dark olive green in colour, appears almost black in the container.

Consistency:  Light oil

Common Uses: Unrefined hemp seed oil is an extremely nourishing oil used in virtually all personal care products form soaps to lotions to lip balm.  Due to it's pentrating nature, it is an amazing addition to hand and body lotions.  It makes a wonderful soap, however being that it is prone to DOS (rancidity), percentage used should be on the lesser end.  Adding Grapefruit Seed Extract to your formula is said to help prevent premature rancidity.

Shelf Life:  Up to 6 months (Kept in the refrigerator it appears to last longer.  For soap, many people freeze it to maximize shelf life, our 4 L jugs are packed in nitrogen (oxygen removed) so the shelf life only starts decreasing once the cap is opened.  ~ Randi)
